The Foothills development is a beautiful collection of 80 three, four and five-bedroom homes designed by Hollins Homes, situated in the village of Loveclough within rural Lancashire to the north of Manchester.
To help achieve open-plan living areas filled with natural daylight and to maximise the living space under the roof within a number of their house types, Hollins Homes partnered with VELUX to create spacious, light-filled, and well-ventilated living spaces in a tranquil rural setting.
Light-filled open-plan living
Dedicated to delivering beautiful contemporary homes that people love, Hollins Homes designs its new homes with modern living in mind. By incorporating VELUX roof windows in an extended ground-floor living area, Hollins Homes has increased the amount of natural daylight into the open-plan living space creating a light-filled and well-ventilated social, dining and kitchen area within the heart of the home that also helps connect the outdoors seamlessly with the indoors.
Creating living space under the roof
To maximise the living area under the sloped roof within some of their house types, Hollins Homes has incorporated the VELUX Mini Dormer roof window to achieve greater levels of daylight than a traditional dormer within the bedrooms and master ensuite bedrooms situated on the top floor. The VELUX Mini Dormer increases the usable space under the sloped roof and helps create an overall impression of spaciousness from the greater boost of natural light. The benefit to homeowners being additional living space under the roof that otherwise might not be used as effectively.
Mark Yates, sales and marketing director of Hollins Homes, said: “VELUX roof windows have been incorporated into the spacious design of the extended ground floor living areas within a number of homes at our Foothills development. This influx of additional natural daylight creates a welcoming, bright and airy environment that’s ideal for unwinding, dining and entertaining.”
“Furthermore, in our Livingstone and Churchill house types, the introduction of VELUX Mini Dormers elevates the top-floor living experience, flooding rooms with daylight, creating a sense of well-being as well as a real ‘wow factor’.”
“Harnessing the transformative power of natural light, our community now enjoy a more elevated living environment, where daylight enhances the mood, increases the sense of space, and improves the overall quality of life within their homes.”
Ben Goodman, operations director of Hollins Homes, said: “Our ongoing and longstanding relationship with VELUX is founded on mutual trust and a shared commitment to enhancing living spaces through innovative skylight solutions, fostering brighter, healthier environments for all.”
Manchester-based Hollins Homes is a multi-award-winning new homes developer in the Northwest of England, delivering aspirational homes with distinctive quality and refined living.
